Who Am I?

My name is Rolake (Ruh la key). If you’d like, call me Rolly!

I’m a collector and admirer of all things aesthetically pleasing. I have a love affair with fashion and makeup. I’ve ALWAYS loved it since I was a little girl, and I know it’s thanks to my daddy. He’s raised me to appreciate things that have the ability to enhance and make you feel good (I guess he’s kind of hedonistic…but aren’t we all?) However as I’ve grown up, the way I look at what is beautiful, what’s considered stylish, and how to express who I am through those outlets has developed and changed.

One important aspect of the young woman that I am is my skin color. It’s not a definition of how I see style, but I must be cognizant of it, no? And here I am to share that with y’all  I’m one of many majestically mahogany monarchs (I love alliteration). Here I am to, not only represent the deeper damsels, but also give everyone of every skin color, insight into MY world of fashion. Not only am I dark, I’m taller than most women (I’m 5’9). Plus, I am in, what the modeling world calls, “No Man’s Land”…a size 5 pant, and 3 dress -_-.  As I change, so will my opinions. As I grow, so will my style. So this is also a chronicle of my journey into adulthood too.

I’m going to bombard you guys with MY ideas of fashion, beauty, and fill the space with my randomness, my fashion and my beauty. I’m a mocha colored muse, and I pride myself on it. While this is mainly a fashion blog, I will also include my random thoughts once in a while. SO let’s get it in! I’m glad you decided to join me on this journey!
